Florida Teacher Charged For Spraying Students With Disinfectant
At a time where teachers are struggling to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic and keeping staff and students safe, one teacher allegedly took safety measures too far.
A Florida teacher is currently facing child abuse charges for spraying her students with disinfectant.
Christina Reszetar, 51, was arrested for spraying aerosol disinfectant on four Largo High School students because they did not wear their masks properly.
“I think I can fairly characterize this as a severely misguided attempt at discipline,” the judge said during her court appearance.
According to WFLA-TV, Reszetar, who teaches learning disabled math, said thar her students would not comply with mask rules.
“I don’t think it was the right thing to do,” said Reszetar’s neighbor Teresa. However, Teresa also called the arrest excessive. “Teachers have to be under a lot of pressure right now with the virus.”
As of now, Reszetar who has been a teacher fir 21 years, is still employed by the school. The judge released her without bond pending a trial if the prosecution decides to move forward. The state requested a higher bond but the judge denied their request because she has no prior record.
