Jordin Sparks’ new single “Call My Name” has entered Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week (dated. Nov. 4).
The sultry track opens at No. 29 on the chart currently led by J. Brown’s “My Whole Heart.”
It marks Sparks’ first entry on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in over a decade.
She first appeared on this chart in 2008 with her breathtaking duet with Chris Brown, “No Air,” which peaked at No. 31. The song spent 13 weeks on the chart.
In 2012, Sparks scored her first top 10 hit on the Adult R&B Airplay chart with “Celebrate,” a duet with Whitney Houston that appeared on the Sparkle soundtrack. It spent 20 weeks on the chart.
“Call My Name” was co-written by Sparks, Dwayne Abernathy, and Undecided Future (Cole Fredrick, Mathew Jarragin, Matisse Pasillas, Nicholas Stone).
Regarding the song, Sparks said it’s “an ode to a love so full, so effortless and pure—there’s a peace and contentment within it.”
She added, “You’ve all witnessed my rocky road in love and now you can heart the culmination of what I’ve learned and now know in my bones.”
“Call My Name” will appear on her forthcoming project, which will follow her 2015 album, Right Here, Right Now. The album debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
In other news, Sparks performed the national anthem at Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzCtJy4PDBJ/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=14&wp=540&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fratedrnb.com&rp=%2F2023%2F10%2Fjordin-sparks-call-my-name-debuts-on-billboard%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A719.8999998569489%2C%22ls%22%3A493.89999985694885%2C%22le%22%3A615.5%7D
