A major Super Bowl 2024 injury barely even happened on the field.
49ers stud linebacker Dre Greenlaw bizarrely injured himself as he was jogging back onto the field with the rest of the San Francisco defense ahead of a new series during the second quarter.

Greenlaw, 26, jumped in place a few times while watching the 49ers punt before beginning to jog onto the field, but crumpled and quickly grabbed his left leg.
His 49ers teammates were emotional around him, and he was subsequently carted off the field.
It was officially announced as an Achilles injury, a daunting sign that it is serious.

He is questionable to return, though he was unable to put any weight on the leg.
Greenlaw is in his fifth season with the 49ers after they drafted him in the fifth round of the 2019 draft.

He recorded 120 total tackles in the regular season along with 5 tackles for loss, and added 15 more total tackles and one tackle for loss in the playoffs entering Sunday.
