The candle was intended to display a snowflake pattern, but many saw the imagery as closely resembling the notorious white hoods worn by Klan members. The company swiftly responded, issuing an apology and stating that they were committed to rectifying the issue and reassessing their design processes to prevent similar incidents.
After social media users pointed out that Bath & Body Works’ “Snowed In” candle design unintentionally resembled Ku Klux Klan members, the company quickly issued an apology. The design, which was supposed to resemble snowflakes, sparked controversy for its unintended likeness to hooded Klan figures.
