Thundercat has revealed his fifth album, Distracted, will release April 3 via Brainfeeder.
The 15-track album will feature collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Channel Tres, Lil Yachty, Mac Miller, Tame Impala and WILLOW.
According to press materials, “Distracted vividly captures the tension between overstimulation and introspection.”
Speaking on his new album, Thundercat said, “Sometimes you need to be distracted to focus in a different way.” As for what he wants listeners to take away, he shared, “Just enjoy it and have fun and just know that the struggle is real and changes shape, but just to keep pushing forward.”
Distracted will include the previously shared “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time” and “No More Lies” with Tame Impala, plus the official lead single, “I Did This To Myself,” featuring Lil Yachty, which is out today (Jan. 30).
On the Flying Lotus-produced track, Thundercat and Yachty find themselves getting a quiet rejection from someone they’re trying to pursue. “Got me looking like a fool / Just to get some of your attention,” Thunderacat sings.
In Yachty’s verse, the rapper fires back, “Cleared out my whole schedule / And you still act like you’re too busy / Bitch, stop actin’ like you got a real job.”
Distracted will follow Thundercat’s 2020 LP, It Is What It Is, which included standouts such as “Dragonball Durag” and “Funny Thing.”
It Is What It Is was the first to be awarded Best Progressive R&B Album at the 63rd Grammys, after the category was renamed from Best Urban Contemporary R&B Album.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray
Overview Chevrolet casts the 2026 E-Ray as the Corvette you can drive in all four seasons, but its all-wheel-drive traction and electrified powertrain have another, more impressive talent: beastly acceleration. With a 6.2-liter V-8 burbling behind the cabin and an electric motor spinning the front axle, the E-Ray boasts a combined 655 horsepower. That’s less…
