Overview
There’s no mistaking the GR Supra coupe’s sports car intentions. From its rakish double-bubble roof to its sculptured flanks and posterior, and from its standard 382-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine to its six-speed manual transmission, it’s clear the GR Supra is all about performance and driver involvement. Built alongside the BMW Z4 convertible, the Supra’s swoopy styling hews to a more modern and lively aesthetic than its Bavarian cousin, but the rest of the car utilizes the engine and most of the mechanical bits from the BMW. Although most drivers will find enough interior room, it can be tight for drivers on the larger side—but that’s true of competitors like the Nissan Z and Lotus Emira too. But even if the Supra requires you to fold yourself in an ungainly manner to enter, those gymnastics will be but a distant memory as soon as the road opens, your eyes find the next turn, and you dip into the prodigious power for a little motorized me time.
What’s New for 2026?
The GR Supra MkV Final Edition joins the lineup for 2026, sliding in above the GR Supra 3.0 and 3.0 Premium trims. Featuring a host of tweaks to separate it from its siblings, the MkV Final Edition includes revised mapping for the differential, larger Brembo brake discs, stiffened suspension bushings, and a specific tune for the adaptive dampers. Cosmetic updates include new 19-inch matte black wheels, a gloss-finished carbon fiber ducktail rear spoiler and carbon fiber mirror caps plus distinctive “GR” embroidery on the driver’s seat, red seatbelts, and accent stitching. The MkV Final Edition also includes a car cover.
