Sipping Spring at the NYC Easter Parade & Bonnet Festival

There’s something special about New York City in the spring. The air feels lighter, the streets feel brighter, and creativity fills every corner. This year, the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival along Fifth Avenue reminded everyone that fashion, joy, and community still bring people together in the most beautiful way.

Held on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, thousands gathered between 49th Street and 57th Street near St. Patrick’s Cathedral for one of New York’s most colorful traditions. What started in the 1870s as a simple Easter stroll has evolved into a walking fashion showcase filled with bold bonnets, spring colors, and unforgettable style.

A Spring Runway Like No Other

The Easter Parade isn’t your typical parade. There are no floats, no marching bands, and no formal lineup — just people walking, smiling, and showing off their creativity. From elegant spring dresses to over-the-top hats, the streets turn into a moving fashion show.

Some bonnets were decorated with flowers and feathers, while others featured playful themes like bunnies, eggs, and even miniature spring scenes. The creativity was endless, and the energy was contagious.

Where Creativity Meets Community

What makes this event so special is that everyone is welcome. Families, couples, tourists, photographers, and fashion lovers all come together to celebrate spring. Many participants spend weeks designing their hats, while others simply show up to enjoy the moment.

Despite cloudy skies this year, the streets were filled with bright colors and smiling faces. That’s the magic of New York — even the weather can’t stop the celebration.

More Than Fashion…. It’s a Feeling

The Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival isn’t just about hats. It’s about:

Celebrating spring Expressing creativity Bringing people together Slowing down and enjoying the moment

It’s a reminder that joy can be found in simple things — a colorful hat, a spring breeze, and a walk down Fifth Avenue.
