My Experience Using Clary Sage Oil for Menopause Hot Flashes

I’ll be honest, when I first started going through menopause, I wasn’t prepared for the hot flashes. They would come out of nowhere, this sudden wave of heat that made me feel flushed, uncomfortable, and honestly a little out of control.

One moment that really stood out to me was during a particularly intense hot flash. I had my clary sage roller nearby, and without overthinking it, I rolled it onto the back of my neck.

It wasn’t like flipping a switch and everything disappeared. My body didn’t feel like it was in overdrive anymore. That moment is when I realized… okay, this actually works.

How I Started Using Clary Sage Oil

I walked into a holistic store looking for something—anything—that might help in a more natural way. The guy there recommended clary sage oil. Honestly, I was skeptical. In my mind, there was no way something so simple (and affordable) could actually help with what I was going through.

But he was confident. Almost like he knew it would work.

So I decided to test it. I waited until a hot flash started coming on, then rolled the oil onto the back of my neck.

And to my surprise… the hot flash calmed down.

Right then and there, I bought it.

Later that night, I google the Clary Sage Oil and it stated that the oil helps to support hormone balance and helps with stress, but I didn’t have high expectations.

I started simple by using the roller during the day and over time, I noticed a difference.

What Changed for Me

The Intensity of My Hot Flashes Went Down

That “overwhelming” feeling started to soften. They became easier to manage, especially when I used the roller oil right when I felt one coming on.

I Felt More in Control

That moment with the roller on my neck stuck with me. It gave me something I could do instead of just waiting for the hot flash to pass.

I Finally Got Better Sleep

Using clary sage at night became part of my routine. I felt more relaxed, and even when I had night sweats, they didn’t disrupt me as much.

How I Use It Now

I’ve found a rhythm that works for me:

  • Roller oil: I apply it to the back of my neck when I feel a hot flash starting
  • Occasionally on wrists: Especially when I’m feeling stressed

It’s simple, but it makes a difference.

What I’ve Learned

Clary sage oil didn’t “fix” everything, but it gave me relief in moments when I really needed it. And sometimes, that’s enough.

Final Thoughts

If you’re going through menopause and struggling with hot flashes, I completely understand how frustrating it can be.

For me, having something as simple as a roller oil that I could use in the moment like on the back of my neck during a hot flash made me feel more in control of my body again. And that alone was worth it.

I’d love to hear from you…

Have you tried anything that actually helped your hot flashes, even a little?
