LOS ANGELES – A California judge denied Jason Alexander’s bid to get out of jail after he was charged with stalking for crashing his ex-wife Britney Spears’ wedding, court records show.
Alexander, who was married to the pop icon for 55 hours in January 2004, asked Ventura County Judge Catherine Voelker to lower his $100,000 bail or release him on his own recognizance during a Wednesday hearing, records say.
Voelker denied the request, citing the severity of the charges, Alexander’s past criminal history and past instances where he failed to appear in court, court minutes show.
The justice remanded Alexander back to the Ventura County jail and set another court date in the matter for June 22.
The 40-year-old was caught lurking on Spears’ Thousand Oaks property last week during her fantasy-land wedding to model and actor Sam Asghari and was charged with stalking, battery, trespassing and vandalism, records show.

In footage he posted to Instagram, Alexander could be seen inside the megastar’s home and even took video of a backyard tent where the nuptials were to be held.
The livestream showed a confrontation between Alexander and event security where he falsely claimed he’d been invited to the celebration.
He then threatened to crash the wedding and a physical struggle ensued before his phone camera cut out.

Alexander, who grew up with Spears in Louisiana, had an open warrant out for grand theft embezzlement and possession of stolen property at the time and was previously busted for stalking, driving under the influence and breaking security protocols at an airport.
