A mugger beat up a 68-year-old man in broad daylight in Brooklyn Saturday morning — with the brutal attack caught on video.
A 17-second clip tweeted by the NYPD Sunday shows the perp, in all gray, punching the victim about 10 times — after the wounded man had been forced to the ground.
The thief then robs the listless man, turning his body to grab items out of his pocket, the harrowing footage shows.
The victim was approached at 9:05 a.m. by the suspect, who was riding a Citi Bike, on Pitkin Avenue and Barbey Street — with the thief patting the victim’s pocket as he demanded property from him, police sources and the NYPD said.
Cop sources said when the victim didn’t oblige, the mugger repeatedly punched and kicked him in his face and body, snatching a cellphone and a silver necklace.

The 68-year-old suffered a broken wrist and nose in the beatdown, the NYPD said in a tweet.
The crook fled west on Pitkin Avenue, according to police sources.
A police union claimed the incident showed that recent laws have given criminals free rein of the streets in the five boroughs.

“These are NYC streets! What used to be the safest big city sent back to the days of high crime due to failed laws that allow no consequences and embolden criminals,” tweeted the Detectives’ Endowment Association.
“Politicians in Albany and City Hall need to step up now to fix their mistakes and keep New Yorkers safe.”
